Brushless DC motor (BLDC):
Longer service life, less wear, no need to change the carbon brushes.
High efficiency and hence less battery consumption.
More compact motor allows for smaller installation dimensions.

Li-Ion rechargeable battery with very low self-discharge (only 2%) compared to a standard NiMH rechargeable battery (15 – 25%).

Did you know - Li-ion batteries:
Have no memory effect.
Consist of 3.6 V cells.
Have a higher voltage than 3.6 V after a full charge, i.e. 5 cells of 3.6 V each = 18 V - but a peak voltage of up to 20 V is possible after a full charge  
Caution: to ensure a long battery life, only store the battery at 50 to 80% charge.
Have more than twice the energy density of e.g. nickel-cadmium batteries.
Have around three times the nominal voltage of nickel-metal hydride batteries.
Require several complete charging cycles to reach full capacity.
